Creating Successful Trade Show Displays

Trade show displays offer an incredible amount of insight into the assorted companies that are represented at trade events. Experience breeds confidence, confidence breeds success and the savvy novice keenly observes.

There are those who have taken the best from the best and developed a blueprint for trade show triumph. It starts with creative brainstorming that gets put into a cognitive plan to be implemented for the ultimate desired results. Planning, training and hard work communicates passion and personal investment to the end buyer. We all want to interact with businesses that are stable and who are passionate about what they do. Excitement is catching, hype fades with conversation.

One thing I am intensely aware of is the personal investment that the host or display presenter has with the company they are representing. I notice their clothes, their mannerism, their enthusiasm and zeal and their sincerity. Most people don’t like to do business with vendors who are not genuine or who tell you what they think you want to hear. Be honest. Be real.

Trade show displays are major marketing investments for many businesses, especially small or new businesses. The planning stage alone can take up to six months. The distinction is in the details and execution of their organized plan. They have to really be familiar with who they will be displaying to, the specific type of visitors that will be in attendance at their event. What they are looking for? Are they buyers and are they qualified to buy what is being sold? These are all valid questions that need to be answered prior to the scheduled trade show. All of these details when finely tuned increase your desired results.

Most trade shows I’ve attended have trade show displays that are either too plain or too gaudy and flamboyant. When designing a display it is always best to make it evident and appealing. This will attract visitors and give you the opportunity to captivate them with pertinent information that facilitates trust between them and the vendor, therefore opening a venue for engaging. Having a structured visual display that is clear and comprehensive elevates the buyers instincts. Visitors can be easily distracted so keep your verbal presentation sharp and stick to the main points. Make every visitor feel important and valued. People don’t always remember what you say to them but we all remember how someone made us feel.
